Political "use of history" in contemporary Russia

In the article the author analyzes the use of history as a tool of identity formation in contemporary Russia; political essence of the process is demonstrated and the main challenges to the unified historical narrative are exposed. The author proposes to fill in the narrative with the presentment of discussions on debatable issues.
