The article examines the political and legal status of the Mordvin territory within the state of the Golden Horde. The research analyzes the deep political changes and deformations of already existing Mordvin management system, replacing it with a new administrative apparatus. The article considers the action of Jochi political, administrative and legal norms in the specific historical conditions of the existence of the Mordvin ethnic group.
