Sexual dimorphism and smoking (analytic overview)

This paper presents contemporary data about peculiarities of course of smoking dependence in men and women. It was attempted to unite and analyze incomplete data about influence of sex as a whole and cyclic hormonal processes in particular on clinical manifestations of disease, dynamic of smoking withdrawal syndrome, efficacy of application of nicotine-substituting therapy. We have shown influence of estrogenic and androgenic biologically active systems on structure of syndrome of pathological craving for smoking in men and women, have planed prospects of investigations in this direction.
