The article analyzes the role and position of women in the Karakhanid society through the work of a scientist of the 11th century. Zhusup Balasagyn "Kuttu Bilim". On the one hand, in the Karakhanid society in the 10th-11th centuries, the status of a woman was characterized as free and independent, but on the other hand, the establishment of Islam as a state religion by the Karakhanids in the 10th century created restrictions on the social mobility of women. The analysis of Balasagyn's bates about a woman concludes that in Karakhanid society in the 11th century, two models of women's behavior and image emerged: the image of a woman who manifests freedom and equality in society, as a manifestation of the nomadic way of life and Tengrianism, and a woman subordinated to the framework of Islamic Understanding about a woman, her role and position in society.
