The article deals with the issue of re-establishment of independent statehood of Po-land in the American policy. The author investigates the connection between new trends in the foreign policy of W. Wilson’s government and the development of national self-definition movement in Poland, considering the attitude of USA to the national question crises in the former Russian Empire and the issue of the status of national states.
