The authors analyze the status of polish population during «the Polish operation» by NKVD (1937-1938) which was one of the «National Operations» conducted during the «Great Purge». It is well known that the «National Operations» were meant to secure the totalitarian regime from the «fifth column». The authors research the characteristics of “the Polish operation” which was the bloodiest massacre of all the «National Operations». 94% of the convicts were sentenced to death. During «the Polish Operation» the Roman Catholic Church building in Krasnodar was closed. Hence, cultural and religious life of the polish community was eliminated in all parts of Krasnodar region.
