A technique of granulated carburizer production has been suggested, based upon graphitized or baked pulverized wastes of electrode manufacture, using polyvinyl alcohol as a binder. The optimal ratio of the dust to the binder is 70 : 30 % (m/m). The low-ash, low-sulfur carburizer with granule size of more than 0.5 mm has been obtained.
