This paper presents the results of studies of the possibility of obtaining modified bitumen using styrene and low molecular weight polyethylene. By copolymerization of styrene and NMPE, two types of additives were obtained that passed all the required laboratory tests specified in GOST 9548-74 for roofing materials. This development makes it possible to obtain roofing bitumen of good quality with improved physicochemical properties, when using waste from the production of low-pressure polyethylene, thereby increasing the profitability of production.
