This study identifies and analyzes the contribution made by the Soviet Red Army in the recovery of agricultural infrastructure during the Great Patriotic War. The author states that military troops contributed to the recovery in 3 following areas: first, by partial self-procurement via organizing farms, joining crop and forage harvesting for public procurement, which was an indirect assistance to the economy; second, by joining sowing and harvesting work on collective farms fields, threshing grain, repairing agricultural machinery, restoring residential and farm buildings, etc.; third, by transferring various material resources required by the agricultural sector, to collective farms. The study pays special attention to the contribution of the Red Army in ensuring the safety of personal property and performing farm works in the front line. The author concludes that the contribution of the Red Army allowed saving thousands of tons of food and forage, thus reducing the burden on the agricultural production during the war. Selfprocurement and farm activities reduced the volume of rail and road transportation and released the transport for carrying military and economic cargoes.
