Georgia has been one of the priority areas of development assistance of Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2004, because it plays a important role in Polish foreign policy in the framework of the Eastern Partnership. The largest amounts of development aid supporting the transformation were allocated for this country. Since founding the Eastern Partnership initiative in 2009 also Azerbaijan and Armenia have been included to a group of priority areas of Polish development aid. However, the amounts of development assistance allocated for these countries were significantly lower than those destined for Georgia.
