The concept of unemployment in research of the classical economists

The article is devoted to the interpretation of the essence of the concept of «unemployment» in the teachings of classical economists. The nature, causes and consequences of unemployment are still being studied by scientists of various fields: economists, sociologists, psychologists, etc. There are differences in the interpretation of the essence and causes of unemployment in different economic schools. It is revealed that economists have traditionally argued that the state of unemployment occurs due to the intervention of public or private organizations in the normal mechanism of market forces. It is determined that according to classical school scientists, unemployment occurs when an employee does not want to work for a fee that the employer is ready to provide.
