The article analyzes the notion of sin ‘seer’ (‘seertey’) in ritual folklore of the Eastern Buryats. The author considers some peculiarities of a legend as a genre. The notion of ‘sin’ is linked with understanding of particular regularity and harmony in people relations. The notion of ‘seer’ or ‘seertey’ in ritual folklore of the Eastern Buryats should regulate people relations not only with a society but also with all natural world.
