Within the framework of this article, the concept and legal nature of the real estate pledge agreement (mortgage) are considered. So, currently one of the important legal instruments is a mortgage agreement. Despite the prevalence of this agreement among legal scholars, experts in the field of civil law are still conducting scientific discussions about the nature of the mortgage agreement. According to the results of the study, it was revealed that a mortgage is one of the most reliable and common ways to ensure the fulfillment of obligations in civil turnover.
