In the paper, topical problems of conducting commercial activities, characteristic of the modern economy, are considered. The interpretation of the strategic management of the organization is given and its essence is defined. The concept of strategic potential of the firm, its structure and directions of realization, allowing to form certain competitive advantages is considered.
