Concepts "image", "media image" and "representation" within the framework of mass media discourse

The article deals with the content of the concepts «image», «media image» and «representation» within the humanities. Various approaches to the definition of these terms are analyzed. Also, the role of concepts in creating an information picture of the world is examined. Their social function is revealed.
