In this article the criminal mental violence is considered in interrelation with mental harm the victim suffers from. The problem is caused by lack of unified approach to the definition of a role of criminal dangerous consequences in mental violence. The investigation made it possible to conclude that mental violence is aimed at social relations developing in connection with protection of mental safety.
