Postwar settlement of the Trieste conflict and the demarcation problem of the Italian-Yugoslavian border (1945-1975)

The paper deals with the post-war settlement of the Trieste conflict both under the Ministerial Council and the bilateral Italian-Yugoslavian negotiations right up to the signing the Ozimo Agreements in 1975, and discusses development of Anglo-American approaches to the problem, due to the deterioration in relations between Yugoslavia and the USSR in the late 50s. The author distinguishes basic stages of the conflict settlement, and describes characteristics and intensity of the talks.
