Proverbs and sayings as the reflection of the mentality of Germans

The article presents an analysis of the proverbs and sayings of the German people, followed by revealing of general patterns and peculiarities of their national character. The research task was to distinguish the characteristic units of the language containing specific features, qualities of the Germans by selecting them from the dictionary.
