We study the possibility of building a digital model of the “Kalina” car headlight lens surface, being an authentic reproduction of the real headlamp lens, using the state-of-the-art modeling tools. The authentic numerical model means that not only the geometric parameters but also physiotechnical properties are in the maximal possible agreement with the real object. The use of the authentic 3D model in various CAD-systems will not only enable the real object's performance parameters to be prognosticated but also its design to be optimized based on a variety of criteria.
