In 1901-1908 in St. Petersburg a temple was built for the community of Orthodox Estonians, led by a graduate of the St. Petersburg Theological Academy priest Pavel Kulbush, the future hieromartyr Platon, Bishop of Revel. For the construction of the temple, the Orthodox Russian-Estonian Brotherhood was organized in honour of the Holy Martyr Isidor Yuryevsky, which appeared in 1898. Te temple complex included the actual temple, which had four chapels on two levels, and the house of the Brotherhood, which housed the apartments of the clergy, the parish school, a workhouse, a library and a book store. However, after the construction work was over, debts totalling one-fifth of the cost of the temple. Over the next six years, contractors and suppliers conducted litigation with the Brotherhood for the return of unpaid money. Finally, in 1914 the debts were paid. As a result of a special study, this page of the history of the temple can be considered restored
