Potential and problems of energy systems development in the Trans-Baikal region and Mongolia

The author consideres the issues of the development of the electricity supply system in the Trans-Baikal region and Mongolia taking into account the organization of simultaneous operation of energy systems and their integration into the inter-state electricity supply system. The main statements of the Eastern vector are studied in the energetic policy of Russia, defined in the energetic strategy of Russia through 2020 and their implementation in the Trans-Baikal territory. The causes leading to the failure of the planned entry into operation of generating sources and power grids are revealed. The potential for the development of electric energy industry in Mongolia is considered.
