The potential of using digital platforms in tourism

The current stage of the digital economy is accompanied by the active development of platforms and ecosystems. Digital information and its transformation methods to meet the growing needs of tourists are becoming the most important resources for tourism management. The digital platforms and ecosystems that are being created act as intermediaries between enterprises working in the tourism services market and consumers. New virtual tourist markets are being formed, for which classical management methods do not work. Therefore, the purpose of the work was to study the possibility of an ecosystem approach to the development of tourism. Within the framework of research methods of comparison, analysis, synthesis, statistical processing of the information, a cartographic method, a method of the content analysis of scientific literature were applied. The authors proposed a model of ecosystem, which is based on the principles of individuality, complexity, speed and mobility. It is shown that the created digital platforms have a powerful potential for the development of domestic and inbound tourism and compete with each other in terms of quantity and quality of information placed on the services, demanded by the modern tourist. The materials of the article may be of practical interest to representatives of the tourism industry who are interested in diversifying their activities based on the application of digital business management methods.
