The article is a short overview of the theoretical premises of studying generations. It shows that the implementation of the generational alternation law requires for all the groups of the society to take part in innovations. As the generational alternation law reflects the development and innovative regeneration, it is important to study the human potential of different generational groups in today’s Russia.
