Protest potential of the region's population as a form of social capital

One of the forms of social capital is the population's protest moods, i.e., manifesting extreme dissatisfaction with their position in the current situation. This article provides an attempt to identify the state of protest potential in the region in 2012, to draw a social portrait of its inhabitants inclined to protest behavior, to identify the most important factors that determine the latent protest activity formation, and to identify the reasons for the relative stability of protest potential in the regional society. The study was carried out on the basis of ISEDT RAS regular monitoring conducted in the Vologda Oblast.
