The narrative structure of A. and B. Strugatskie' novel "Beetle in the anthill"

The article presents an analysis of the narrative structure of the novel Beetle in the Anthill ; its levels are singled out; the speech subjects and speech forms of each level are characterized. It is being proved that the main speech subject is the «personified narrator», and narration is produced from the viewpoint of the hero-actor. The connection between the arrangement of narration and the event of the hero's choice is shown; the particular character of such a choice is revealed in comparison with the similar event in the genre of a long short story.
