The Daurs compulsory service during the Qing dynasty

The article is devoted to the study of certain types of duties of Dahurian population during the reign of the Qing Dynasty. On the base of foreign and domestic materials, the author concluded that the active involvement of the Dahurs in the Eight Banners army to serve in troubled regions of the Qing Empire and the Qing-Russian border. The paper studies issues related to the payment of tax by the Buteha Dahurs, the base and the special activities of Chorgan (the Congress), engaged in the distribution of duties and tax collection, and military education of soldiers belonged to the Eight Banners (the administrative units of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region). The author concludes that the obligations, duties and taxes became heavy burden that amplified the difficulties of the majority of the Dahurian population.
