In fact, the paper is a review of the book “Ubiquitous Computing and the Internet of Things: Prerequisites for the Development of ICT”. At the same time, a brief description of the main problematic issues covered by the corporate authors consisting of the representatives of various branches of science is given. The book contains the best research materials on the results of several scientific events organized and conducted by the Institute of Scientific Communication (Volgograd, Russia) together with the leading Universities of the Volgograd region. The authors of the joint monograph are more than 700 scientists from different cities of Russia. Out of 3000 applications, 157 advanced scientific developments in the field of prerequisites of formation, processes of formation, transformations, as well as the legal support of the social institutions in demand in the context of the development of the concept of digital modernization - the Internet of things - were selected. The book is intended for a wide target audience, which consists of scientists of different generations, different disciplinaryand sectoral (within the same science) affiliation. Among them are young researchers (students, graduate students), as well as scientists who have already received recognition from the world scientific community (professors and teachers ofuniversities), studying the socio-economic and managerial-legal consequences of the emergence and spread of digital technologies, including the Internet of things. In addition, the readers can be all individuals and legal entities who are interested in the development of the information society, information and telecommunication and digital technologies. The materials are structured in four logical parts. The first part is devoted to the study of the essence of the process of institutionalization and legal regulation of the information society. In the second part the digital economy is analyzed in the context of the economy sectors. The third part deals with the promising investment and innovation projects in entrepreneurship in the context of its digital modernization. In the fourth part the features of the state and corporate regulation, infrastructure support and maintenance of business security, developing on the basis of the Internet of things, are studied.
