The authors outlined one of the crucial principles of human resource management - increasing the value of human capital as one of the factors of sustainable innovative development of the organization in the modern model of economic development. Based on the analysis of theoretical scientific literature, the characteristics of the Chinese economy, and the experience of Chinese companies, the relevance of increasing the value of human capital within the concept of "Industry 4.0", gig economy, and sharing economy was investigated. The following conclusions were drawn from the results of the study: enhancing the value of human capital encourages a complementary relationship between human capital and technological innovation within the framework of "Industry 4.0"; the development of human capital and the sustainability of the gig economy are interrelated; within the domain of the sharing economy, increasing the value of human capital helps to solve the problem of employment. The authors made recommendations for increasing the value of human capital at the levels of government, enterprise, and individual workers
