The article describes the influence of the material properties of parts of the working bodies of cultivators on the wear process when performing agricultural operations. A theoretical substantiation of the change in the defects of the crystal lattice of the material of the working bodies is given. The dependences of the Shear Density of Molecules in the Crystal Lattice under the influence of forces on the working body are presented. The results of calculations are presented to simplify the dependence of the magnitude of the deformation of the crystal lattice when the material of the working body contacts the soil, the friction of the metal on the soil particle and changes in its shape due to plastic deformation. The purpose of the research is indicated, which is to achieve a decrease in the friction value of the material of the working body with a soil particle and ensure the wear resistance properties of the metal; in the technological process of manufacturing parts, a prerequisite is the hardening of the surface layer of the working body. To reduce the intensity of wear of the working bodies of cultivators, it is proposed to use the technology of hardening the cutting part of the working bodies with the selection of the technological operation of hardening the surface layer of the part to increase the wear resistance of the cutting part element. Possible ways of hardening the cutting part of the working body are indicated. The process of wear of the cutting part of the working body due to interaction with the soil, accompanied by mechanical destruction of the crystal lattice during elastic-plastic deformation of the metal, is described. The results of comparative tests of the working bodies of lancet shares of serial and experimental ones (with hardfacing of wear-resistant metal) are presented. The results of the assessment of changes in the traction resistance of the working bodies of serial and experimental ones are presented; tests were carried out in the soil channel. Measurements of the traction resistance of working bodies with serial and experimental lancet shares at several speed modes made it possible to identify the effects of changes in the geometric characteristics of worn working bodies on the resistance of soil particles.
