Efficiency improvement of prognostication and planning of the regional socioeconomic development

The article deals with the forecasting and planning of the regional socio-economic system. As an effective management mechanism the author proposes to introduce the indicative planning, the main point of which is the directed activity of regional authorities, municipalities and businesses, focused on development and realization of long-term goals and priorities of the socio-economic development of a region. The application of such a management approach considers the principle of internal territorial and industrial balance in the region.
