The society has both positive and negative effects on the environment. Examples of the negative human impact on the environment are deforestation associated with road construction and urban expansion; soil contamination associated with the use of fertilizers and chemicals; reducing the number of animal populations due to the expansion of areas for fields, roads and cities through deforestation as a result of this, animals lose their normal habitat and die. A strong change in the human environment caused by the destruction of animals and plants leads to the difficulty of adapting biological objects to a new life. All this necessitates the development and application of special measures to conserve the biological resources of the Earth. The programs "Biological diversity of forests of Russia" (1995) and "Forests of Russia" (1997) are adopted in the Russian Federation. For the implementation of these programs in the Russian Federation in 2006, the Forest Code was adopted, where it is noted that for the reproduction of forests, high-quality seeds should be used. UV irradiation of seeds before sowing has a positive effect, which consists in increasing their germination. It provides steady harvests of the decorative cultures used for gardening of the cities and other settlements. In relation to the seeds of tree crops, the effect of UV radiation has been little studied. Therefore, the study of the effect of UV radiation for pre-sowing treatment of seeds of coniferous crops, including thuja western is an urgent task.
