The article describes the main results of the research on the problem of improving the quality of educational processes at the chemical faculties of the Soviet universities. It highlights the best practices of universities in improving the quality of academic work of university professors and teachers, gives the examples of using results of scientific researches in educational processes of the students, and makes the conclusion about the advisability of using the best Soviet experiences in organization of educational processes for training students-chemists at the universities of the Russian Federation. Improvement of the content and structure of university chemical education, preparation of new textbooks and learning materials was one of the central directions in the work of university professors and teachers. It is necessary to study the experience of preparing curricula, courses and programs on chemical disciplines, organization of laboratory work and practical work, learning aids and methodical aids created in the framework of Soviet university education in the field of chemistry.
