Improving the competitiveness of regions as a basis for effective socio-economic development

The article deals with the theoretical foundations of regional competitiveness, identified the main factors of competitiveness. The authors consider some of the economic indicators of the development of the six subjects of the Russian Federation. Based on the application of the method of rank assessment, the positions of the studied regions in terms of competitiveness are revealed and conclusions are formed based on the results of the study.
