The most common causes of incidents in tank farms include spontaneous combustion of pyrophoric deposits, hot work, careless handling of fire, and arson. Therefore, it is necessary to consider all possible hazardous risks in the initial stages of project development to prevent potential emergencies and minimize the risk of fire or explosion due to improper storage and handling of hazardous substances. Enhancing explosion and fire safety at oil bases is a crucial step in ensuring safety not only for workers but also for the environment and the population. The implementation of projects to ensure fire safety should be constant and systematic to minimize the risks of emergencies.
