Late radiation-induced thoracic injury

The paper presents the effective methods of diagnosis and treatment of early and late radiation-induced mediastinal damages as well as the incidence of radiation pneumonitis and pneumofibrosis depending on the primary disease and conditions for performing radiation therapy. The criteria of acute radiation-induced damages (Acute Radiation Morbidity Scoring Criteria, scale RTOG, 1994) and clinical-X-ray characteristics of radiation pneumofibrosis (scale LENT SOMS, 1995) have been demonstrated.
