The paper deals with Sweden’s official position on the transit of British-French troops through Sweden in case of the British and French intervention in the Soviet-Finnish War of 1939-1940 on the part of Finland. The study traces Sweden’s influence on peace negotiations between the USSR and Finland in the early 1940s. The author identified that at the final stage of the Soviet-Fi-nish war, Sweden provided Finland with great support, became a mediator in the negotiations between these countries, and gave any assistance with the conclusion of a peace treaty. Despite diplomatic pressure from the Western allies, the Swedish government refused the troops entry, fearing the outbreak of hostilities between Germany and the Western allies in the kingdom. It is possible to note that due to the position of Sweden, the peace treaty between Finland and the USSR has been signed in March 1940.
