In the modern global world, one of the development trends and priorities for improving the competitiveness of States isenvironmental responsibility. Russia is ranked 56th out of 180 countries in the international environmental performance rating (EPI)in 2019. The index evaluates the national environmental situation by 24 indicators, as well as by ten categories of environmentalhealth and ecosystem viability of the country. In many ways, this place is due to the lack of use of PR communications whilemaintaining the reputation of the brand of Russia as an environmentally friendly territory. The Russian Federation does notrationally use the potential of PR communication when informing the international community about the results of positive changesrelated to the implementation of new environmental programs and projects.
