The article deals with the protection of groundwater - a strategic natural resource that is vital for the existence of people. In order to protect a valuable resource, authorized public authorities develop comprehensive measures to counteract their pollution and reduce their volume, constantly monitor them to confirm compliance with certain quality indicators. In addition, it is emphasized that with the aim of sustainable development of the economy and ensuring environmental safety, “additional measures” were proposed to ensure the protection of groundwater.
