The practice and problems of labeling fur products in Russia

The article discusses technologies for reducing the turnover of illegal goods on the territory of the Russian Federation. The focus is on fur products, the counterfeit of which affects the volume of customs payments received by the federal budget. The article discusses measures to bring part of the market out of the shadows by marking fur products with control (identification) signs with special protective RFID tags, mandatory certification and examination of fur and fur goods when determining the code for the commodity nomenclature of foreign economic activity. The article also discusses the problems of unreliable declaration of fur goods. Unreliable data specified in the declaration also lead to negative consequences: to a decrease in income received by the federal budget, to problems with the traceability of goods. Measures to solve the identified problems are being considered.
