The Practice of Using a Digital Trading Platform as a Basis for the Development of Foreign Trade Activities

In modern conditions of foreign trade development and increase in commodity flows, there is a need to introduce promising technologies based on the latest developments and providing information protection into the activities of state bodies and participants in foreign economic activity. In the article the authors consider the digital trading platform creation based on a blockchain platform. The research is based on a joint development by Maersk and the American IT Corporation IBM called TradeLens which will allow digitizing supply chains and tracking international shipments in real time. It also identifies problematic issues of creating a digital trading platform based on blockchain technology and determines the prospects for its use in the activities of the Large Port of St. Petersburg.
