The right of prisoners to receive legal assistance in foreign legislation

Purpose: Research of issues related to the provision of legal assistance to convicts, the law of foreign countries. Methodology: Comparative, evaluation and formally-legal method was used. Results: The author describes the possibility of obtaining legal assistance to prisoners sentenced to the penalty of deprivation of liberty in North America, Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia. The article analyzes the legislation of the countries of the Eurasian economic Union, governing the rights of prisoners to obtain legal advice. Negative and positive experience of realization of convicted persons the right to receive legal assistance are revealed in different states. Novelty/originality/value: The article has a high scientific value, because it reflects the results of one of the first studies of foreign law in providing legal assistance to prisoner.
