This article is devoted to the origin and interaction of the most important features of Russian political culture. Te historical essence of “identity” is considered - in its all- European archaic origins it was precisely in the context of the ancient Russian culture that it manifested itself with the greatest clarity, becoming the center and the nerve of the entire ancient Russian political culture. Te author claims that the combination of a great world religion and a national original powerful authority formed an organic combination in Russian history, which in many respects determined the most important features of Russian history and culture. Te search for a national outlook at a later time was reduced to the triad of “Orthodoxy, Autocracy and Nationalism”, proclaimed by Count Sergey Uvarov, which incorporated the ideology of Russian national political thought and played an important role in the development of Russian statehood. Te author shows that the reliance on the national historical experience and an appeal to national history with its identity for Russian political culture were necessary then and have had an enduring significance since, acquiring a special meaning in modern times
Orthodoxy, identity, popular assembly, autocracy
