The orthodox parishes in the structure of relations with authorities at the local level

The paper provides the results of empirical study carried out in Kashirskoe and Nikolskoe deaneries. The author pays special attention to the aspect of relations between the Orthodox parishes and authorities (political, economic, and municipal ones) at the local level. The article distinguishes main types of the interactions between Orthodox parishes and authority. These relations are characterized either by social capital and symbolic profit, either by conflict or by so-called potential interaction. The author also gives the description of new forms of religious unions at the local level, that is the Orthodox entrepreneurs which used to carry out the collective charity.
