With the development and complexity of the social relations system, the degree of multidimensionality and heterogeneity of the law phenomenon, as one of the main socio-regulatory factors, increases. At the same time, its permanently deepening internal differentiation causes increasingly significant difficulties in coordinating various types of legal understanding, methodological approaches to understanding legal reality, and industry specifications for regulating individual spheres of legal relations with a certain generalised «semantic idea of law». This, in turn, negatively affects the effectiveness of legal institutions as a means of harmonising disparate subjective interests, since it becomes increasingly difficult to bring them to some common dimensions. The publication contains: a) a systematised analysis of the main contradictions of classical legal understanding, which still contribute to the deepening of the theoretical, ideological and methodological «disunity» of jurisprudence; b) a study of historical sources and modern approaches to the development of conceptual foundations for integrating legal science. The integral-methodological approach is substantiated, within the framework of which the content of law is interpreted as a derivative of the forms of self-organisation of human existence, which can serve as the basis for coordinating the theoretical-dogmatic, ontological, cultural-value, socio-historical, procedural-practical planes of legal science and practice.
