Legal regulation of the activity of law enforcement bodies that ensure state protection of crime victims

In the article the normative-legal basis of the organization of the activity of law enforcement bodies ensuring state protection of crime victims is reviewed. The author takes up the laws and regulations that govern the use of state protection in criminal cases in respect of crime victims. Special attention is paid to the norms of the Criminal Procedural Code of the Russian Federation and the Federal law of 24 August 2004 № 119-FZ "On State Protection of Victims, Witnesses and Other Participants in Criminal Proceedings" that regulate the criminal procedural activities of the investigator (inquiry officer) regarding the safety of persons suffered from crimes. The conclusion is made about the necessity of further improvement of criminal procedural legislation and law enforcement practice.
