The paper reviews state policy in the area of physical culture and sport in different periods of modern Russia. Negative consequences are exposed for physical culture and sport in health promotion and fight against different asocial displays. The authors define priority directions of state policy of the Russian Federation in the area of physical culture and sport on the modern stage and for further extension.
