The article makes an attempt to analyze the axiological legal approaches of N.Y. Danilevskiy, who developed the theory of cultural and historical types. Danilevskiy suggested an idea of nonexistence of a universal civilization with unified axiological legal directives. The thinker recognized the historic ethno-political community as the basic value that determines the relevance of other legal values. Recognition of the law as a phenomenon functionally supporting such values of higher order, as religion and morality, is typical for political and legal views of N.Y. Danilevskiy.
