User data is an asset of the modern economy. The presence of an array of data allows the company to study user behavior in order to maximize benefits by increasing its sales or profitability of affiliated entities. In digital markets, user data acts as a competitive advantage, allowing the digital giant to occupy a dominant position and prevent other participants from entering the industry. In order to reduce the risk of monopolization of user data, regulators around the world are trying to find the most optimal way to reduce the network effect as a competitive advantage in digital markets. In this article, the authors analyze the state of the digital markets of Russia and Hungary in order to identify common risks in the field of user data turnover associated with the strengthening of the dominant role of digital companies. In the article, analysis, comparative method, formal legal approach were used as the methodology of the research.
