Legal framework of Lebanon’s military courts activities

This article discusses the legal framework, competence, organization and activities of military courts in Lebanon based on analysis of the current legislation of Lebanon, reports and recommendations of international organizations. The paper provides evidence of violations of citizens’ basic rights and freedoms during case hearing in military courts. Besides, it assesses the status of military courts from the point of view of the fundamental constitutional principles of Lebanon.
