Legal framework for the protection victims of crime in Russia

The article analyzes the Victimological situation in the country over the past year, based on statistics published by the Ministry of Interior of Russia in the number of fatalities and serious bodily injury. We consider the current legislation which includes Russia victimological aspect and aimed at ensuring the security of the individual, as a potential victim of threats of criminal nature. A comprehensive analysis of the problems and the legal regulation of the mechanism of the state protection of victims of crime in Russia, as well as statis-tics cited figures enabled the author to draw a conclusion and propose to develop a unified law on Victim impact on crime and the protection of victims of crime, which would be determined by the state and the foundations victimological policy.
